Contraindications and Considerations

While a Halo Therapy (Japanese Head Spa) is safe for most people there are certain conditions that clients should us caution before booking a Halo Therapy treatment. Other preexisting conditions are considered contraindicated and prevent a head spa treatment from being safe for some individuals. Please read the following guidelines. Consult your physician for guidelines, if you are unsure:

  • Hair Extensions - Your technician will need adequate access to your scalp for your treatment. It is recommended to wait until your extensions have been removed before booking your treatment in order to get the full experience.

  • Pregnancy - Client will be lying flat for an extended period of time. Consult with a healthcare provider before proceeding with treatment.

  • Recent Head or Neck Injury - Avoid treatment if you have had recent trauma to your head, neck, shoulders, such as whiplash or a concussion. Allow proper time for healing.

  • Skin/Scalp Infections - Clients with open wounds or cuts or any type of infection on the skin or scalp is contraindicated from receiving a Halo Therapy treatment.
